Exkillvate is a single player tower defense game where you play the role of an unnamed company agent of the Mine Goblin Corporation. You’ve been tasked with overseeing the worst mining location in the company, itself crippled due to the constant attacks by humans trying to mine the gold for themselves.

Your goal - to stop the humans by using the traps and abilities available to you and to meet your quota!

Each level you will navigate by spending some of the gold you mine to purchase and upgrade traps, which are defenses you place down to kill intruders. You can also activate abilities, which are single-use powers on a timed cooldown.

This is of vital importance as this game has a twist - not only are the humans trying to take your gold, but they will learn based on the damage they’ve encountered (and survived!) and will buy upgrades to counter you! Use a lot of mud traps? They will buy upgraded boots to nullify the slow. Maybe you’re more of a Boulder Ability aficionado? Then they’ll buy armor that reduces the damage they take from that. Use an even mix to try and stump them? Then they’ll get an upgraded pick-axe for faster digging, or a health potion to heal!

You beat the level if you meet quota! You lose if you don’t. A win means another layer to dig down into, perhaps endlessly.

Exkillvate is a fast-paced game.  Feel free to pause the game and evaluate.

How it works - Keyboard/Mouse

Keys 1-3 are attached to your traps and keys 4-5 to your abilities so you can easily choose the one you want and deploy them on the map.

The W,A,S,D keys allow you to look around the map level you’re on.

The Tab button will cycle you through the different layers you have active. As you progress in the game, more and more layers will open up - there’s a lot of gold in this mine and it goes deep!

Press Spacebar or Escape to pause the game. Enemies and animations will stop, but you can still place traps and abilities and upgrade or sell traps. 

You click the left mouse button to either place a trap into an open spot where it can be put (as shown by the colored silhouette), or to unleash the ability of your choice. You have to have enough gold, gained from mining, to afford to place a trap though. Abilities do not cost gold.

You can press Escape or Right Mouse Button when trying to place a trap or use an ability to exit out of the action, spending nothing. 

The mouse scroll wheel allows you to zoom in and out of the map.
